Mr. Mir An-Nazmus Sakib served as the Statistical Officer of Patiya Upazila of Chattogram District and Jhalakathi Sadar Upazila of Jhalakathi District before joining the present workplace.


He joined Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) on September 09, 2018 (AM) as a non-cadre gazetted statistical officer. He completed Basic Training Course in 2018 and Foundation Training Course in 2021 with prestigious Director General's Award (DG's Award) from Rural Development Academy (RDA), Bogura. Apart from his official work at Jhalakathi Sadar, he successfully supported the upazila and district administration in the 11th National Parliament Election, Fifth Upazila Parishad Election and implementation of various government programs. In recognition of his reputation, honesty and skill, the then Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Jhalakathi Sadar, Mr. Md. Atahar Mia presented him with a complimentary DO letter. During his stay in Jhalakathi, within a short period of time, he took a place in the hearts of the people of Jhalakathi. After that he got a transfer based appointment in Patiya Upazila of Chattogram District. During his four and a half years of service there, besides official work, he successfully cooperated with the upazila administration in Union Parishad Election (returning officer), Municipal Election, Zila Parishad Election, various competitions, school/madrasa managing committee election and implementation of various government programs. During the Corona pandemic, he played a vital role in relief and patient rehabilitation, even being infected himself several times. Created low cost face shield and online agriculture report software. In 2022, he performed the important responsibility of the district coordinator in the country's first digital census and household census. Also successfully performed the duties of co-ordinator in various censuses and surveys. He achieved the 'Innovation Award' in 2021, 'Smart Patiya Best Idea Award' in 2023 and 'Integrity Award' in 2024 . He has successfully fulfilled the duties of focal point officer of the country's first smart ashrayan 'Haidgaon Smart Village' project and general secretary of the renowned Patiya Officers' Club. The then Hon'ble Whip of Bangladesh National Parliament Alhaz Shamsul Haque Chowdhury MP, former Upazila Nirbahi officers of Patiya (Mr. Habibul Hasan, Mr. Farhana Jahan Upama and Mr. Faisal Ahmed) were respectful and satisfied with his work. He has a great reputation as a skilled trainer with ICT skills, as well as a program presenter, organizer, researcher, legal expert, literary and cultural activist. He is known to the people of Patiya as a kind, honest, competent, dedicated, smart and one-stop service provider officer.


Mr. Sakib was born in 1991 in a noble Muslim family of Matlab Dakshin upazila of Chandpur district, who were grawned and persevered in feni. His father Prof. Mir Golam Haider is a retired Principal (BCS-General Education) of Government Teachers' Training College, Feni and mother Mrs. Ismat Perveen Runu is an organizer, cultural activist and writer. His wife Mrs. Parisa Sanjana Heya completed her MBA degree with distinction from Feni University. His only daughter is Sawaliha Safana Imsha. He passed SSC from Traditional Feni Government Pilot High School in 2006 and HSC from Traditional Comilla Victoria Government College in 2008 under Comilla Education Board. He passed with merit in both exams with a GPA of 5.00. Later, from the Department of Mathematics, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet, he completed his four-year BSc (Hons) degree and one and a half year MS (Thesis) degree with high CGPAs and distinctions. Currently he is doing research as an MPhil (Fellow) in the same department of the same university. In his entire education life, he has earned scholarships at various levels including primary and junior. He has spontaneous participation in co-curricular activities. He has served as an organizer in various organizations, including organizing graduate mathematics olympiads. Among them, he was associated with Bangladesh Red Crescent Society as a volunteer and trainer. He was also involved in journalism, quizzes and debates. He is the former vice-president and former general secretary of SUST Mathematics Society; Life Member, Former Presidium Member and Founder of Delta Debaters' Factory; Former editor of sustnews24.com; Former Moderator, Founder and Life Member of Feni Government Pilot High School Debating Society; Executive and Life Member of SUST Mathematics Alumni Association; Founding member of Sust Club Limited; Adviser to Feni Debate Forum; Principal Adviser to Prayash; BBS SO-2018 Batch Committee General Secretary; Publicity Secretary of BBS Non-cadre Officers Welfare Association and Life Member of Bangladesh Mathematical Society. He has also worked in many other organizations including Desh Amar and National Children's Task Force.


He completed one year Diploma in Journalism from Bangladesh Institute of Journalism and Electronic Media (BIJEM), Dhaka in 2015 and six months Diploma in ICT from Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC), Sylhet regional office in 2016. He secured first place in both the courses. Prior to joining Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics, he was posted as Assistant Teacher (Mathematics) from 34th BCS (Non-cadre) and was working in Feni Government Pilot High School. While working there, he gained wide popularity as a technology-based teacher and successful organizer. Under his leadership, the school won many awards including recognition as the best educational institution in Feni district.


Mr. Sakib has previously published numerous articles in various national, online and regional magazines and periodicals. He has served as a compostion writer for the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB). He has won many awards and recognitions by writing stories, compostions and plays for various competitions. His first novel 'Paunopunikota' was published by 'Ghas Prakashan' at the Amar Ekushey Book Fair in 2017 and his first short story book 'Koyekti Anugalpo' was published by the same publication at the 2018 Book Fair. His semi-exploratory, informative book 'Bangladeshe Ja Kichu Jatiyo' was published by 'Payra Prakash' at the 2019 Amar Ekushey Book Fair. He also has two more joint books named 'Sharalipir Ashtakathon' and 'Ahato Raktojaba-3'. He has several publications in recognized international research journals. In 2022, West Bengal's popular cartoon production company 'FaceToons Animation' produced the horror animation film 'Ashwiner Borshoney' based on his story.
