Like the rest of the country, the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics will soon be implementing the ‘Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS): Round 7 (2024-25)’ in Ramganj Upazila of Lakshmipur district                In addition to collecting health-related information, blood samples of women and children will also be collected                Data collection locations: Teori (Bholakot), Madhya Darbeshpur (Darbeshpur), Saudherkhil (Noagaon) and Uttar Purba Angarpara (Municipality)                Everyone’s cooperation is highly desired in collecting information and blood samples.

Data collection of Economic Census 2024 in Ramganj on 10-26 December
Details

Keeping in mind the theme of “Give information in the economic census, participate in building a new Bangladesh”, the ‘4th Economic Census 2024’ is going to be implemented by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics in Ramganj Upazila of Lakshmipur district like the rest of the country on 10-26 December 2024. Census workers appointed by the bureau will collect various information related to the identity, economic activities, manpower, assets and basic facilities of all permanent/temporary institutions (government/private/autonomous offices, markets/shopping centers, shops, banks, educational institutions, factories, companies, NGOs, clubs, halls, hospitals, clinics, diagnostic centers, mosques/temple/church/pagodas, etc.), institutional agricultural farms and households with non-agricultural economic activities (households) in the upazila through the digital Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) method using tabs. The importance of this census is immense in the formulation and implementation of the new, non-discriminatory Bangladesh perspective and five-year plan, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), etc., in the infrastructural development of the economic unit and the adoption of a master plan to identify and solve existing problems and in the formulation of a business register. All personal information provided in the census will be kept confidential. According to the Statistics Act 2013 and the Census Act 1972, census workers have access to all households and institutions in the country, including any place, and all responsible persons living in households and working in institutions are obliged to provide information. Non-cooperation in collecting information and inability to provide information are legally punishable offenses.


In Ramganj Upazila, 1 Upazila Census Coordinator (UCC) cum Zonal Officer, 3 Zonal Officers, 4 IT Supervisors, 26 Supervisors and 142 Data Collectors will serve as Census Workers in a total of 4 zones, who are appointed by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics and the Upazila Census Workers Selection Committee. UCC cum Zonal Officer, Zonal Officer and IT Supervisors will provide training to supervisors and data collectors at various training centers in Ramganj Upazila from 05-08 December. It is to be noted that as per the office order of Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics, Mr. Mir An-Nazmus Sakib, Statistical Officer of Ramganj, will be working as District Census Coordinator (DCC) of Chittagong-4 (Mirsarai, Sitakunda and Sandwip) Census District as a first class gazetted officer and master trainer, therefore, Mr. Md. Hannan Miah, Statistical Investigator (Mobile # 01814474920) will be working as UCC of Ramganj in his place.


Mr. Mir An-Nazmus Sakib, Statistical Officer of Ramganj, sought the overall cooperation of all concerned in this nationally important data collection activity and urged everyone to provide accurate information for proper planning.
